Buses carrying about 300 Americans have left the war-torn capital of Sudan, monitored by armed drones, as foreign leaders try to broker a fresh truce. The US effort comes as other countries wind down their rescue efforts, with the UK ending its evacuation flights within the next 24 hours after a drop in demand. The capital Khartoum has been battered by clashes between rival generals, with the UN reporting over 500 people killed. The US used a ceasefire last weekend to evacuate its embassy in Khartoum, and has deployed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets to support air and land evacuation routes.
