Labor Negotiations: Stellantis and UAW Reach Tentative Agreements, GM Plant Faces Walkout

The United Auto Workers (UAW) has reached a tentative agreement with Stellantis, ending a six-week strike and securing job gains from the reopening of a plant in Belvidere, Illinois, as well as the addition of a new battery plant at the same location. The deal includes a 25% general wage increase and cost-of-living adjustments, with some workers receiving larger increases. However, workers at GM's Spring Hill Assembly Plant, which produces the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq, have gone on strike, putting the production of the vehicle at risk.
