Disney VFX Workers Successfully Unionize with IATSE
TL;DR
Visual effects workers at Walt Disney Pictures are seeking to unionize with IATSE, with a supermajority of the in-house VFX crewmembers signing cards with the National Labor Relations Board. This marks a historic move in the industry, as it is the second time this month that VFX workers at a major company have voted to unionize. The workers are demanding fair compensation, adequate healthcare, retirement benefits, and the same rights and protections as their unionized coworkers.
