Gwyneth Paltrow's Ski Collision Trial and Utah's Ski Laws

Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in court this week in a civil trial over a 2016 collision with another skier at Deer Valley resort in Park City, Utah. The lawsuit raises questions about who is liable when one skier hits another on the slopes. Her location on the mountain in relation to plaintiff Terry Sanderson could determine whether or not she'll be ordered to pay him as much as millions in damages. Paltrow later countersued, claiming it was Sanderson who hit her from behind. Ski collisions are not uncommon and when injuries result, lawyers sometimes get involved.
