"Landmark $15m Victory for Mallory Beach's Family in Murdaugh Boat Crash Case"

The family of Mallory Beach, who died in a 2019 boat crash involving the Murdaugh family, has reached a $15 million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit. The boat, owned by convicted murderer and ex-attorney Alex Murdaugh, was believed to be driven by his drunk son, Paul, at the time of the collision. The convenience store that sold Paul alcohol and Alex Murdaugh were defendants in the lawsuit. A further $3 million will be split between four other teenage passengers on the boat. Alex Murdaugh was later convicted of murdering his wife and son.
