Missing British Boy Found Alive in France After 6 Years

A British teenager who disappeared in Spain six years ago is believed to have been found alive in southern France, according to officials from the Toulouse National Gendarmerie. The 17-year-old, who identified himself as Alex Batty, was picked up by a truck driver while hitchhiking and brought to the gendarmerie police. He had no identifying documents but resembled the photo of him when he went missing at age 11. The teenager is in "very good health" and is now in a center for minors. Authorities are working with the British Embassy to formally identify him. The whereabouts of his mother and grandfather, who are wanted in connection with his disappearance, are unknown.
