"Greece's Battle Against Europe's Largest Recorded Wildfire"

Greece is struggling to contain the largest wildfires ever recorded within the European Union, which have been raging for 10 days and have scorched an area of 310 square miles, more than four times the size of Washington, D.C. The cause of the fires is under investigation, but the country's record-setting heat and human-induced climate change are believed to have exacerbated the situation. The European Union has launched its largest aerial firefighting operation, sending 11 firefighting planes, one helicopter, and 400 firefighters to assist Greece. The fires have claimed the lives of at least 21 people, including 19 believed to be migrants or refugees found in the Dadia forest.
