"Mass Evacuations as Wildfires Ravage Greece's Vacation Islands"

Thousands of people have been evacuated from the Greek island of Corfu as wildfires continue to rage across the country during a major heat wave. Greek authorities are working to contain 82 wildfires, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). The evacuation on Corfu follows the largest fire evacuation ever in Greece on the island of Rhodes, another popular tourist destination. The German government is holding a crisis meeting to discuss assistance for German holidaymakers affected by the fires. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has attributed the extreme nature of the wildfires to climate change.
