Michigan Ravaged by Deadly Tornadoes and Severe Storms

At least five people were killed and over 1.1 million customers lost power as two destructive tornadoes tore through Michigan, part of a complex of damaging thunderstorms. The tornado crossed Interstate 96, flipping cars and flinging tractor-trailers into guardrails. The storms also caused flooding and brought damaging straight-line gusts, with winds exceeding 75 mph. The National Weather Service had upgraded the storm threat to a Level 3 out of 5. As of Friday afternoon, hundreds of thousands of customers were still without power in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
