"Natural Disaster Fallout: Vermont Airmen and Soldiers Aid, Animal Shelters Overflow, and Crops Ravaged"

The Vermont National Guard has been activated to assist in assessing and addressing the extensive damage caused by historic flooding in the state. Twenty-five Army and Air National Guard members will be deployed to over 130 towns to meet with local leaders and relay any damages or necessities to the State Emergency Operations Center. The damages range from impacted resources like clean drinking water and electricity to infrastructure needs such as washed-out roadways and bridges. The Guard members, who are neighbors and community members themselves, have put their personal lives on hold to provide selfless service during this time of need.
