Colorado Judge Rules Trump Engaged in Insurrection, but Remains on Ballot

A Colorado judge has ruled that former President Donald Trump engaged in insurrection during the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol but rejected an effort to keep him off the state's primary ballot. The judge found that it is unclear whether a Civil War-era Constitutional amendment barring insurrectionists from public office applies to the presidency. This is the third ruling in a little over a week against lawsuits seeking to remove Trump from the ballot based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. The decision is likely to be appealed and may ultimately reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
