TL;DR

Congressional leaders have announced a spending deal for government funding in 2024, with $1.59 trillion allocated for fiscal year 2024, including $886 billion for defense spending and $704 billion for non-defense spending. While this deal reduces the chances of a shutdown, there are still hurdles to overcome, including addressing demands related to immigration and border security. President Biden expressed support for the bipartisan funding framework, emphasizing the importance of preventing a government shutdown and protecting national priorities.
