DeSantis Concedes Trump's Election Fraud Claims Were False
TL;DR
Florida Governor and 2024 presidential candidate Ron DeSantis stated that former President Donald Trump's claims of a stolen 2020 election were not true, acknowledging that the theories were unsubstantiated. Despite this, DeSantis has largely avoided direct criticisms of Trump's election claims and has positioned himself as a rival in the Republican primary. As Trump faces an indictment for allegedly conspiring to overthrow the election results, his rivals, including DeSantis, have seized on the charges as the 2024 campaign intensifies. However, a recent poll shows Trump leading the pack of GOP hopefuls with 54% support, compared to DeSantis' 17%.
