TL;DR
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is set to announce his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination during a live appearance on Twitter with Elon Musk on Wednesday night. The announcement will be followed by trips to presidential primary states after Memorial Day. DeSantis' political operation has already moved out of the state GOP headquarters to a new office in Tallahassee, triggering a federal campaign law requiring him to register as a candidate and designate a principal campaign committee within 15 days.
