DOJ IG to audit Epstein file releases under transparency law

The Justice Department’s inspector general will review how the department handled Epstein-related records to ensure compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, evaluating the processes for identifying, redacting, and releasing documents and how post-release publication concerns are addressed, amid criticism over late disclosures and redactions that could reveal victims’ identities or uncharged associates.
