Investigation Launched into Fentanyl-Laced Suspicious Mail Sent to Election Offices

A suspicious mailing addressed to Sacramento County's voter registration and elections office was intercepted and is currently under investigation by the Postal Service and FBI. Similar suspicious mailings were sent to multiple ballot counting centers in different states, including Los Angeles, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington. The contents of the mailings have not been confirmed, but in four cases, they contained fentanyl. Authorities are advising election offices to take precautions when handling mail and urging the public to report any suspicious packages to law enforcement.
