Michigan Attorney General Files Felony Charges Against Fake Trump Electors in 2020 Election Plot

Michigan's attorney general has charged 16 individuals, known as "fake electors," with multiple crimes related to their alleged fraudulent attempt to overturn President Joe Biden's victory in the state's 2020 election. The charges include conspiracy, election law forgery, and uttering and publishing. The accused, some of whom are active in Republican politics, face maximum prison sentences of up to 14 years. This is the first time that members of fake Electoral College slates for former President Donald Trump have faced criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing, and additional defendants may also face charges.
