"Migrant airlift sparks political feud between DeSantis and Newsom"

California officials are considering whether to charge Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his administration with kidnapping or other charges for arranging flights of migrants to Sacramento under false pretenses. The migrants, mostly from Colombia and Venezuela, were promised jobs by people who claimed to work for Florida's government. Community and religious groups in California are providing the migrants with shelter, food, and cellphones to contact relatives. DeSantis and Florida legislators have approved state funding to transport migrants from Texas to other states, as they did last year when they sent a group of people to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
