TL;DR

Former Vice President Mike Pence has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, making the surprise announcement during a speech to Jewish Republican donors in Las Vegas. Pence emphasized the need for the Republican Party to return to conservative principles and resist the allure of populism. Despite serving under Donald Trump for four years, Pence struggled to gain traction and raise funds for his campaign, and his criticism of Trump's actions on January 6th did not resonate with Trump-era Republicans.
