Mitt Romney Declares Retirement, Urges New Leadership

Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2024, marking the potential end of his conservative career. Romney, who has been in conflict with former President Donald Trump, cited the need for a "new generation" of leaders to address America's challenges. He criticized both President Joe Biden and Trump for not doing enough to confront critical issues such as national debt, climate change, and the influence of Russia and China. Romney, however, stated that he will continue to work on these issues until his term ends in January 2025 and hinted at remaining involved in politics beyond that.
