Peter Meijer Enters Crowded Michigan GOP Senate Primary

Former Rep. Pete Meijer has announced his bid for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, joining a crowded GOP primary to replace Sen. Debbie Stabenow. Meijer lost his House seat last cycle after voting to impeach former President Trump. He faces competition from other Republican candidates, including former Rep. Mike Rogers and former Detroit Police Chief James Craig. On the Democratic side, Rep. Elissa Slotkin is the most prominent candidate.
