TL;DR

Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats has endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the Republican presidential nomination, becoming the second major endorsement DeSantis has received in Iowa this month. Vander Plaats, known for his influence among evangelicals, has previously endorsed winning candidates in the Iowa caucuses. However, DeSantis still trails former President Donald Trump by a significant margin in Iowa polls and nationally. Vander Plaats' endorsement is seen as a boost for DeSantis, but it remains to be seen if it will significantly impact his campaign.
