SC taps Graham’s sister to fill out late senator’s term

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham Nordone, Lindsey Graham’s sister who was adopted by him, to finish her brother’s six-year Senate term ending Jan. 3. Nordone’s selection followed a push from former President Trump and a positive nudge from Tim Scott. With Graham’s death, South Carolina will hold a special primary (filing opens July 21; Aug. 11 primary date) to determine a candidate for the seat, with potential contenders including Mark Lynch, Rep. Nancy Mace, and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette.
