"Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas under scrutiny for forgiven luxury RV loan"

Government watchdog Accountable.US has launched a campaign calling for recusals from Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas due to alleged conflicts of interest. New ethics questions have arisen regarding Justice Thomas, as documents indicate that he had some or all of a $267,000 loan forgiven to purchase a luxury RV. While Thomas made interest payments on the loan, it is unclear if the loan was fully repaid or if he disclosed the loan forgiveness to the IRS, as required by law. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden has called on Thomas to provide information on the amount forgiven and whether he properly reported it on his tax returns.
