Trump allies charged in Michigan voting machine probe

Former Michigan attorney general candidate Matt DePerno and ex-state Rep. Daire Rendon, both Republicans, have been charged with criminal offenses related to their alleged involvement in attempting to access Michigan voting machines after the 2020 presidential election. The charges include undue possession of a voting machine, willful damage to a voting machine, conspiracy, and false pretenses. The charges come after an 18-month investigation and indicate that prominent political figures who pushed false election fraud claims will face criminal prosecution. DePerno and Rendon have been arraigned and released on personal bonds.
