TL;DR

Former President Donald Trump has chosen to participate in a Fox News town hall rather than attend the CNN GOP primary debate, both scheduled for the same time on Jan. 10. Trump's decision comes despite calls from fellow candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis to join the debate. Trump has avoided GOP primary debates thus far, preferring his own events, and has indicated he would only consider debating if the polls were close, which they currently are not, according to his assessment.
