"Trump Criticizes GOP Candidate for NY Special Election Loss as Democrat Tom Suozzi Emerges Victorious"
TL;DR
Former President Trump criticized Republican candidate Mazi Pilip for losing a special election for a U.S. House seat in New York, attributing her loss to her failure to endorse him. Pilip, who distanced herself from Trump during her campaign, lost to Democrat Tom Suozzi. The election was seen as a bellwether for the likely showdown between President Biden and Trump. Suozzi, a centrist Democrat, won the election and was congratulated by the White House, while Trump called for a "real candidate" in the district for November.
