Trump Plans to Appoint Kash Patel as New FBI Director
TL;DR
President-elect Donald Trump has selected Kash Patel, a former aide and critic of the FBI, to lead the agency, pending the resignation or dismissal of current director Christopher Wray. Trump also plans to nominate Chad Chronister, a Florida sheriff, as head of the DEA. Both appointments, along with Pam Bondi as Attorney General nominee, require Senate confirmation. Patel, a Trump loyalist, has advocated for limiting the FBI's authority and has been involved in Trump's media ventures. Chronister has extensive law enforcement experience in Florida.
