"Meta's Threads: The New Twitter Competitor Making Waves"

Instagram's new Twitter competitor, Threads, has finally launched after months of rumors and leaks. The app, closely tied to Instagram, allows users to create text-based posts, share photos and videos, and follow the same accounts as on Instagram. Threads briefly went live on the web, giving users a sneak peek before being pulled offline. However, it won't be available in the EU at launch, as the Irish Data Protection Commission has been in contact with Meta about the product. Additionally, a developer mistakenly revealed that Threads was briefly available on the Google Play store. Screenshots of the app show its integration with Instagram and the use of ActivityPub, a decentralized social media protocol. Instagram is also reportedly working on a separate decentralized social network for text updates, codenamed P92.
