"The Rock's WWE WrestleMania 2024 Swap and Backstage Power Report"
TL;DR
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson reportedly pushed for a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, leading to his replacement of Cody Rhodes as Reigns' opponent. Speculation suggests that the change may have been made to divert attention from Vince McMahon's sex trafficking scandal, and that Johnson's $30 million stock deal with TKO may have influenced his decision to return to the ring. Regardless, it appears that Rock vs. Reigns was set to happen, regardless of the Royal Rumble winner.
