Big Ten Unveils Future Football Schedules and Scheduling Model

The Big Ten has released a five-year football scheduling model that includes the addition of Oregon and Washington in 2024. The schedule highlights the challenge of West Coast travel, with most Big Ten schools making trips to the West Coast. The model, called "Flex Protect XVIII," ensures that each of the 18 Big Ten schools will play one another at least twice, with rotating opponents played no more than three times in a five-year period. The schedule also includes protected rivalries and the removal of divisions from the league starting in 2024.
