Canes Fall Short in Double OT as Knights Take Game 3
TL;DR
Carolina erased a four-goal third-period deficit to force double overtime, but a late bounce off Brandon Bussi in the fifth period capped Vegas’s 5-4 win in Game 3, giving the Knights a 2-1 series lead. Brandon Bussi stopped 18 of 19 in his playoff debut after Frederik Andersen exited; Svechnikov’s late power-play goal completed a record-setting Canes comeback, though they could not complete the comeback in the extra frame. It was Carolina’s first road loss of the postseason and their first overtime defeat.
