Wembanyama explodes for 41-24 as Spurs edge Thunder in double OT to take West finals opener
Victor Wembanyama posted 41 points and 24 rebounds to power San Antonio to a 122-115 double-overtime win over Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, aided by Dylan Harper's 24 points and a playoff-record seven steals. Wembanyama, at 22 years old, became the youngest player with 40+ points and 20+ rebounds in a playoff game, as the Spurs grabbed home-court advantage. Thunder stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (24 points, 12 assists) and Jalen Williams (26) fought hard, but Oklahoma City’s nine-game playoff win streak ended; Game 2 is Wednesday in Oklahoma City.
