Hovland edges Scheffler in Monday playoff to claim Travelers Championship

Viktor Hovland defeated world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a sudden-death playoff at TPC River Highlands to win the Travelers Championship, his eighth PGA Tour title and first since March 2025. After a rain-delayed final round, Hovland rallied with three straight birdies around Nos. 13–15 to pull even with Scheffler, who had led late before the 72nd hole forced a Monday finish. In the playoff, Hovland rolled in a 25-foot birdie on the first extra hole while Scheffler missed from 8½ feet, sealing the victory for the Norwegian.
