March Madness Upsets: Purdue and Kentucky Suffer Shocking Losses in NCAA Tournament

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo expressed sympathy for Purdue after the Boilermakers suffered a historic upset at the hands of No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Izzo, whose team is in the same bracket as Purdue, said he spoke to Boilermakers coach Matt Painter after the game and relayed his own experience of losing to a No. 15 seed in 2016. The Big Ten, which had more winners than losers in the first round, is now without a national title since Michigan State's in 2000.
