Martone Becomes Flyers Rookie, Set for Immediate NHL Debut
Michigan State freshman Porter Martone, a 2025 top-10 pick, signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers after MSU’s season ended, officially joining the organization and becoming eligible to play in NHL games this week. He finished with 25 goals and 50 points in 35 games and is expected to slot into a top-nine role once cleared, with a likely debut as early as Tuesday against the Capitals and a spot possibly solidified for Thursday’s critical game against Detroit.
