Mets Secure Frankie Montas with 2-Year, $34M Contract
TL;DR
The New York Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract, adding depth to their rotation after losing several key pitchers to free agency. Montas, who can opt out after the first year, joins a team that made an unexpected run to the National League Championship Series last season. The Mets have also reduced their payroll significantly and are considered strong contenders to sign superstar outfielder Juan Soto.
