Red Sox Secure Garrett Crochet in Major Trade Deal
TL;DR
The Boston Red Sox have acquired pitcher Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for four prospects, including top catching prospect Kyle Teel. The trade, focused on long-term potential, also involved Braden Montgomery, Wikelman Gonzalez, and Chase Meidroth. Crochet, a highly sought-after starter, fills a crucial need for Boston's rotation after missing out on Max Fried. Despite his past injuries, Crochet's impressive 2024 season made him a valuable asset. The Red Sox managed to retain their top prospects, marking a strategic win for the team.
