Rory McIlroy concluded a challenging year with an emotional victory at the World Tour Championship in Dubai, securing his sixth title as Europe's top golfer. McIlroy's win, marked by a decisive birdie on the 16th hole, also tied him with Seve Ballesteros for the Race to Dubai titles. Despite personal and professional hurdles, including a near-miss at the U.S. Open and a brief divorce filing, McIlroy expressed immense pride in his achievements, aiming to match Colin Montgomerie's record in the future.
