TL;DR

Maverick McNealy and Alex Smalley headline a tight second round at Aronimink, with Rory McIlroy rallying to join the chase after a bogey-free 67 that put him one over. The brutal course continues to punish imprecision, rewarding strategic play and iron precision, while several big names sit within two strokes of the leaders, leaving the weekend wide open as players navigate extreme pins and lengthy rounds.
