TL;DR

There are rumors that Apple is developing a budget-friendly 12.9-inch MacBook, potentially priced between $600 and $700, using A-series mobile chips instead of M-series silicon, to fill a gap in its product lineup and appeal to consumers seeking affordable laptops. This device would likely feature basic specifications and serve users who primarily need a device for browsing, messaging, and light tasks, aligning with the trend of phones being the main computing device for many households.
