EU Warns TikTok, X, and Meta Over Hamas Videos as Israel-Hamas Misinformation Spreads

The European Union (EU) has issued a warning to TikTok regarding the spread of "disinformation" on its platform following the Hamas attack on Israel. The EU urged TikTok's CEO to step up efforts to comply with European law and protect young users from violent content and terrorist propaganda. Similar warnings were previously given to Twitter (now known as X) and Meta (formerly Facebook and Instagram-owner). The EU has set a 24-hour deadline for TikTok to outline its compliance measures. X and Meta have also been given the same deadline to address disinformation concerns. Failure to comply could result in fines or even a temporary ban from the EU.
