Google Assistant to Introduce AI-powered Article Summarization

Google Assistant is reportedly working on a generative AI feature that will allow it to summarize web pages when browsing through Chrome or Custom Tab webpages. The feature is not yet operational, but it is expected to enable users to request a summary by saying "Hey Google, summarize this" or by using a "Summarize" button. The capability may be exclusive to Google's Pixel phones when it becomes publicly available. While the feature could be beneficial for accessibility, concerns remain about the reliability of materials produced by generative AI.
