Meta's Threads: The New Twitter Rival

Instagram has unveiled Threads, a new app positioned as a competitor to Twitter. Threads allows users to have real-time, public conversations with each other and is closely tied to Instagram, requiring users to have an Instagram account. While Threads looks similar to Twitter in many ways, it currently does not support direct messaging. Instagram aims to make Threads work seamlessly with other apps in the future, allowing users to take their followers with them across platforms. The app is available for download in the United States and other countries, but not initially in the European Union due to data-sharing restrictions.
