Search underway for missing deep-sea craft carrying 5 people to Titanic wreckage

A submersible vessel carrying five people to document the wreckage of the Titanic has been reported missing, prompting a search and rescue operation in the Atlantic Ocean. The submersible was operated by OceanGate Expeditions and had a 96-hour oxygen supply. The vessel submerged on Sunday morning and lost contact with its support vessel, the Canadian research icebreaker Polar Prince, about an hour and 45 minutes later. The search effort is being led by the US Coast Guard in Boston, with additional resources expected to arrive in the coming days.
