Windows 11 Updates Cause SSD Failures and Data Loss
TL;DR
Microsoft is investigating a bug introduced with Windows 11 KB5063878 that causes SSD data corruption and drive disappearance, primarily affecting certain SSD models and under specific heavy write workloads, especially in Japan. The issue appears to be isolated and most users are unaffected, but affected drives may require data recovery efforts. Microsoft is working with partners to understand and resolve the problem.
