YouTube's Warning: Turn off Ad-Blocker or Face Slower Load Times

YouTube has confirmed that it intentionally inserted a five-second delay before video pages load for users with ad blockers, in an effort to combat ad-blocking across all platforms. The delay was initially reported as targeting Firefox users, but users have reported experiencing it on Chrome and Edge as well. YouTube suggests disabling the ad blocker to resolve the issue, although a temporary delay may still occur until the browser refreshes. Google has been making significant moves to combat ad-blocking, including disabling videos for viewers using ad blockers and launching a global effort to encourage users to enable ads or subscribe to its ad-free Premium service.
