Deadly Fire at Mexico Migrant Center Blamed on Deportation Protest

At least 39 people were killed and dozens more injured in a fire at a migration center in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, near the US-Mexico border. The fire was believed to have been caused by a protest initiated by some of the migrants detained at the center after they found out they would be deported. The migrants put small mattresses at the door of the shelter and set them on fire as a form of protest. The National Migration Institute, which runs the center, said it "strongly rejects the acts that led to this tragedy."
