Stranded Luxury Cruise Ship in Greenland Rescued at High Tide

The luxury cruise ship MV Ocean Explorer, which ran aground in Greenland with 206 people on board, has been successfully pulled free after three days. No injuries, pollution, or breach of the hull were reported. The ship and its passengers will now travel to a port for damage assessment, and the passengers will be flown home. The cruise ship had passengers from Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Three passengers were reported to have COVID-19. The ship is likely to go to Iceland, the closest place with large ports, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the grounding.
