Tragic Submarine Incident Claims Lives of Three South African Navy Personnel

Three South African Navy personnel have died and one is in critical condition after being swept off the deck of a submarine by big sea waves during a helicopter's attempt to perform a "vertical transfer" of supplies. The accident occurred off the coast of Cape Town, where rough seas have been experienced due to a phenomenon known as "spring tide." A rescue effort was launched, and while all seven submariners were recovered, three died and a senior officer is in critical condition. An inquiry will be conducted to investigate the incident.
